SCARCE CHELSEA WHITE LEAF & BASKET MOULDED STAND
England, c1752-54

 

 

The white-glazed Chelsea porcelain stand of oval lobed form,
the plain center surrounded by subtle basket-moulding,
each end with deeply moulded grape stems and overlapping serrated leaves sided by crabstock handles;
raised on a low footrim

Condition : Normal firing irregularites and burned red spots;
a small amount of good restoration to the left handle, barely perceptible and does not blacklight
