KANGXI BLUE & WHITE PORCELAIN BARBED & MOLDED PLATE
China, c1700-1710
The barbed and molded plate painted in bright underglaze blue, the center depicting a flowering peony and
other flora on a grassy mound within a cavetto and border with radiating lotus leaves with flora and foliage,
alternating with radiating leafy stems ending in open flowerheads, within a trailing leafy stem border;
the verso with a fantasy mark (possibly a lotus) within concentric circles,
surrounded by a border of petals and precious objects
Condition : Excellent with firing flaw (?” shallow line) to top side of rim edge; firing flaw verso toward center
(firing flaws are normal and expected in Kangxi export porcelain)
