JACOBITE ENGRAVED DRAM OR FIRING GLASS

England, Mid-18th Century

 

 

The drawn trumpet bowl raised on a short thick solid stem and heavy conical foot,
engraved with a Jacobite 6-petaled rose sided by two buds issuing from thorny stems.
the reverse with a thistle raised on an upright thorny stem
and sided by two thistle leaves; snapped pontil

 

Condition : Excellent with good weight and grey tone; normal footrim wear;
several minor inclusions

 

3.75" High / 2.5" Wide (Rim) / 2.25" Wide (Foot) / 4.7 oz.
