GOOD EARLY GEORGE III DIMINUTIVE CUBAN MAHOGANY CHEST OF DRAWERS,

England, c1765

 

Good Early George III Diminutive Cuban Mahogany Chest of Drawers, Brushing Slide, Canted Blind-Fretwork Corners, c1765

 

Of dense heavy timbers, retaining an excellent early if not original surface

and original pierced brasses,
of excellent form and design,
the well figured rectangular top with canted corners

above a conforming case with brushing slide and four long graduated cockbeaded drawers

sided by blind fret-carved canted corners,

the whole raised on strongly shaped ogee bracket feet

 

Condition :

Excellent for age, with minor marks and abrasions commensurate with age and usage;

lower left brass bail a replacememt;

very high quality overall

 

35.5" Wide, The Top, 37.5" The Feet, x 21.5" Deep x 31" High
