Of very heavy gauge silver,
the shallow round dish with an inset 1575 Elizabeth I silver sixpence,
the flaring sides with spiraled flutes and 'godrons', and embossed grape and leaves,
all between upper and lower rows of beading;
the side with a coiled snake handle

The 1575 Sixpence :
Obverse: Crowned Bust of Elizabeth with Tudor rose to the right,
ELIZABETH D G ANG FR ET HI REGINA
(Elizabeth by the grace of God Queen of England France & Ireland).
Reverse : Arms of England & France over long cross, '1575' date above,
POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV
(I have made God my helper)

Condition : Impressive weight and 'hand'; excellent condition with wear appropriate to age and usage;
excellent marks to the outer rim; considerable surface wear to the sixpence
3.75" Diameter, the Bowl / 4.75" Over Handle / 3.9 oz.
