GEORGE III SILVER NUTMEG GRATER

John Shaw, Birmingham, 1816-17

 

 

Of quite heavy gauge silver, the rounded rectangular box with ribbing to the top, base and sides,

the slightly domed hinged cover opening to a hinged blue steel grater above an open storage compartment,

fully marked to the base rim; quite a nice quality box

 

Condition : Excellent; several minor expected pin-point dings to the ribs; some stubborn tarnish in the recesses

 

1" High x 1.75" Long / 1.2 oz.
