GEORGE III IRISH LARGE MAHOGANY BRASS-BOUND RIBBED PEAT BUCKET

Ireland, c1790-1820

 

 

Of quite heavy Cuban mahogany,

the large mahogany ribbed tapering body having reeded brass upper and lower collars,

the arched handle with heavy T-form brass attachments,

later removable handled painted tin liner

 

Condition : Excellent with normal minor separations of the vertical staves;

nicks and scratches appropriate to age and usage

 

Note : Most of these buckets range from 14" to 16".

 One of this 18.75" size is quite rare and very desirable.
