Fine George III Pierced Brass & Iron Serpentine 2-Tier Footman, England, c1770 

 

The serpentine fronted top centering a decorative pseudo coat of arms below a lion's head

sided by a pair of mythical mermen, scrolling foliage, flora, and a band of drapery,
over a lower brass fronted iron plate rack;
the serpentine front apron also with scrolling foliage and a lower band of gadrooning;
the whole raised on front cast foliate legs headed by lions, and ending in lion-paw feet, and iron back legs

 

Condition : Excellent with wear appropriate to age and usage

 

17.25" High x 22.75" Long
