The large baluster form mug painted in the Chinese Imari palette with underglaze blue, iron red and gilt, depicting a blue-edged scroll reserved on iron red roe-diapered ground, and centering a blooming peony on upright stalk sided by further leaves and flora, the rim with a band of iron red Wan Li diapering reserved with ovals of flowerheads, the grooved loop handle painted with a vertical floral spray ending in a molded and painted flowerhead; the verso footrim penciled "M F"
Condition : Excellent, the gilt in excellent condition as well
