Chelsea Porcelain Silver-Moulded Polychrome Dish, England, c1756 

 

The oval silver-shaped dish taken from a silver prototype by Nicholas Sprimont,
and painted with sprays of peaches and berries amongst flying insects,
the border feathered in turquoise and the side handles pricked out in puce;
unmarked verso

 

Condition : Ceramic in excellent condition, without chips or cracks;

scattered light wear and refreshing to the high points of decoration;
usual kiln spatter and tiny burst glaze bubbles
