CARVED FIGURAL BOXWOOD SCREW-FORM NUTCRACKER
Continental, First Half 19th Century

 

 

 

The standing violinist having a long nose and cap
and raised on a chip-carved round waisted pedestal,
the upper back open, his lower body turning to execute the screw action; very well carved

 

Condition : Overall good condition; a well re-glued piece to one shoulder, visible in images;
several applied wooden jacket buttons missing;
several very minor edge dents to the base, appropriate to age and usage
