SET OF THREE GEORGE I SILVER THREE-TINE TABLE FORKS

England, c1720, Marks rubbed and cast over

 

   

Of heavy gauge silver, in the Hanoverian Pattern with three tines and upturned tips,

the terminals engraved I (or J) MT in contemporary conjoined script with flourishes;

marks both cast over and rubbed; see image below with remnants of marks below

 

Condition : overall very good; good patination with normal scratches and nicks, and not having been over-polished;

tines very likely tidied

 

7.5” Long / 5.2 oz.
