Fine Pair George III Silver-Gilt Ice Cream Shovels

 

 

Of very heavy gauge silver, lightly gilt and double struck in the King’s Honeysuckle Pattern,

the terminals cast with concave shells above anthemion, the spade shaped bowls with concave shell heels,

threaded to each side, both crested :

an elephant’s head surmounted by a dove

 

Condition : Excellent; very high quality; the gild softly rubbed with a wonderful glow and patina;

several minor expected scuffs to the bowl interiors

 

10.25” Long / 12.3 oz.
