Of quite heavy gauge silver, each rectangular everted diagonal gadrooned rim beneath flattened dome cover with twist-off ring

handle and engraved with 2 elephant trunks centering a 5-petaled rose; lids and bodies marked : 1 and 1, 2 and 3

 

Note: Robert Garrard II was an important silversmith of the 19th century, appointed goldsmith and jeweller to the

king in 1830, and in 1843 official crown jeweller.  He created and built the famed America's Cup Trophy (1848.)

 

Condition: Excellent, with several minor corner dents
