The large sweetmeat shell escallop shell ribbed horizontally, painted in blue and white with a central floral roundel issuing four chrysanthemum sprays, the handle also with a floral spray, all within a diamond-diapered border; brown dressed rim; the verso partly glazed
Note: Sweetmeats are sweet delicacies, as candy, or crystallized fruit preserved in sugar. Many lovely service pieces from silver, porcelain and glass were made for serving sweetmeats during the 17th, 18th and early 19th centuries.
Condition : Excellent, minor firing flaws verso to the unglazed areas
