HAN DYNASTY GREEN GLAZED POTTERY HORSE
Western Han Dynasty, 206 BC – 8 AD, probably Southern China
The pottery horse standing four-square on strong legs with raised head and open mouth, wearing a flat saddle on its back,
remains of frosted green (lead) glaze; air holes in the mouth and center back
(for similar construction, see Chinese Ceramics, He Li, #62, p.72, 110-111)
Condition: Excellent; expected minor repairs; natural glaze frosting from moisture and mineralization
