GEORGIAN CAST SILVER HARLEQUIN TAPERSTICK
England, c1750, Unmarked

 

 

 

 

The cast silver harlequin standing on a shaped mount, well cast and chased with excellent detail,
his raised arms supporting the fluted drip pan below a spool form socket with plain extended drip pan;

his feet resting on a rococo case mount;

unmarked but tests as silver; silver scratch weight verso

 

Note :

The harlequin taperstick apparently has no corresponding candlesticks.
It was produced over a period of 10 years, between c1740-1750

 

Condition : Excellent
