GEORGE II MAHOGANY KNEEHOLE DRESSING TABLE

England, c1745-50

 

 

With beautiful proportions and heavy dense timbers, possibly Jamaican, the rectangular moulded top

with re-entrant corners over a conforming case with a long molded frieze drawer above a lap drawer

and recessed prospect door opening to a shelved cupboard,

flanked by two tiers of three graduated drawers,

raised on six flat bracket feet with angular shaped apron to both front and sides;

retaining original cast brass handles and two antique keys

 

Provenance : Alfred Bullard, Inc., Philadelphia PA

 

Condition : Excellent, with deep rich color; expected minor use nicks and stains appropriate to age and usage

 

30.25” High x 31-5/8” Wide x 18.5” Deep
