George III Brass Bound Small Oval Mahogany Tray, Gillows, Englaned, c1770 

 

An unusually small brass bound oval tray of fine timbers,

attributed to "Gillows" and retaining excellent color and patination,
of oval form with carved scrolling twin handles

 

Condition: Very good original surface without warps or splits to tray base;
repair at one end handle;

the banding with usual additional securing and brads, in part due to normal timber shrinkage

 

21" Wide, 13.5" Deep, 2" High
